Government Shutdown Nears Record Length New Timeline Could Finally End It

The Shutdown Might Finally End:-

Well, we have some good news because we are now getting reports that this government shutdown could finally end. Because we have a new timeline. This timeline is, what many lawmakers are now looking at, and why they decided to change their tune all of the sudden.

President Trump Refuses to Back Down:-

Essentially what President Trump is saying is we told you we are not going to negotiate until you open up the federal government. They have their start to their proposal. They’re just waiting for Democrats to open up the federal government. Rhe reason why are now being called to open up is very interesting and it has to do with this. Says why the shutdown is making flight delays worse.

Flight Delays Are Getting Out of Control:-

So that pilot has no clue how long it’s going to take to get off the ground. All he knows is, hey, we’re on the plane. But we’re seeing airports like Dallas, there’s long delays. It’s not just here on the West Coast either. It’s on the East Coast as well. But look at this right here. Is the government preparing for more problems on the horizon.

Air Traffic Controllers Under Immense Strain:-

Nearly 80% of air traffic controllers absent in New York amid the shutdown. The concern is people are just now starting to call in more and more. That’s the problem because now if you want to have your put your kind of, you know, have your hand in the mix and you want to have some type of say in what the federal government does, well, initially all we could do was we could call our state representatives and have them fight for us. Well, the House of Representatives already did their job. They passed the bill and it’s just waiting in the Senate and the Senate keeps voting it down. The problem right now, and this is where the American people are stepping forward, is they’re calling out.

Public Pressure and Financial Losses Mount:-

And now we’re seeing delay after delay after delay. And now we’re seeing cancellations at airports. Well, these airlines, they’re calling the Trump administration and telling them that you need to open up. They are calling representatives. But there’s another very important date that’s coming up as well and it’s in about 2 weeks. That’s what everyone’s looking at. We got about a twoe time frame. But here’s the crazy thing. This government shutdown as of tomorrow is going to be tied for the longest shutdown in history. As of Wednesday, this would be the longest shutdown in the US history. Longer than back in 2018 and 2019.

Lawmakers Explore Bipartisan Compromise:-

It does seem that way. As of right now, Natasha, major airports across the US are now experiencing some major delays with those staffing shortages. The FFA did say that heading into the weekend, there was a surge of callouts of air traffic controllers and the FFA adding that air traffic controllers are still working without receiving a pay and that these workers are under immense stress and fatigue. the FFA continuing to urge the government to end the shutdown immediately to avoid any potential further delays for travelers.

Both Parties Seek a Way Out:-

These are people that are absolutely struggling.A handful of Democrats have openly questioned their party’s refusal to budge on Republicans stop gap spending measure as a way to kickstart talks in renewing expiring affordable care act tax credits. This right here is what the the House of Representatives already passed. A stop gap bill that is going to keep the federal government open, keep it funded at current levels like the B administration did and then we can renegotiate and more about it in the future. give us, you know, some time and keep the federal government open in the meantime.
Snap funding creates a new closing date:-

Nicely, that hasn’t surpassed the senate. It says on the republican side, a few regulation lawmakers are starting to chafe on the residence’s extended absence and gop leadership’s refusal to even negotiate the tax credit. Now, those are the people which are supportive of this invoice. There is consultant don Beaverbrook, tom susie, jeff herd, and josh gottheimr. So they may be all so that you were given republican, democrat, republican, and a democrat. You purchased two and and two, excuse me. Here’s the invoice. The enhanced top rate tax credits might be prolonged for 2 years with a phased out income cap for those making among $2 hundred,000 and $400,000 a year. The proposal additionally consists of several reforms, consisting of requiring the less expensive care act marketplaces to verify that recipients haven’t died, creating a new standard for cracking down on fraud, and imparting greater transparency on the price of recipients tax credit.

The vital thanksgiving deadline:-

A residence republican familiar with gop management discussions told axios closing week that new restrictions like income verification and income caps have been being taken into consideration. Republicans are already considering this, but yet they haven’t put it forward because they are waiting for Democrats to open up the federal government first. Again, the problem Republicans have asked Democrats to open the government first before they move forward with negotiations. Both Republicans, both Democrats and Republicans are looking for an off-ramp as the government’s closure inches toward the longest in US history. A group of moderate Senate Democrats have even been quietly gathering to plot how to possibly reopen the government.

What Happen Next:–

This is part of the issue is that the federal government is going to use $4.65 billion. They’re taking $600 million that’s going to go to states for their administrative um costs, but the other $4.65 billion is going to go to pay the American people. The problem is we need between 8 to9 billion per month in order to fund SNAP benefits in its entirety. Well, this is why it’s creating a new deadline is because this means SNAP benefits are only going to be funded at 50%. Well, look at this. This sets a new deadline for the shutdown. This means that people are gonna probably start getting their money over the next probably few days to maybe the next week or so, which means that’s going to put us back about two weeks. Well, if we look at a calendar, just to give you an idea, today is Monday, November 3rd. So, if we look for two weeks, that puts us to Monday, November 17th. That’s when everyone should be getting their benefits.

Conclusion:-

You know theoretically, but they’re going to get about two weeks worth of benefits. That is a critical date simply because of two things. Number one, SNAP benefits would need to be re-uped and we don’t have the money to do it. The second thing is this is right before the peak holiday season. Thanksgiving travelers will be traveling that week and if we don’t see the government reopen and these hundreds of thousands of people get paid, this is going to be an absolute mess going into Thanksgiving and into December. But again, that’s the good news is it looks like somewhere between the 17th and 24th is the next deadline for when we could see the federal government finally reopen.
